Frequently Asked Questions
Zennjet is a form of insurance specifically designed for travelers who need to carry prescribed medications, including controlled substances, across national or state borders. Zennjet provides its Members access to detailed information regarding local rules and regulations in over 200 countries. But some local authorities have their own interpretation of the law. When that happens, and a Member is detained or has their meds confiscated, Zennjet is there to help.
Zennjet organizes the world into 3 groupings: “Regulated,” “Highly Regulated” and “Restricted.” Every country and state regulate prescription medications to some degree. Most of the world’s most popular destinations have rules that are strict but generally fair. Some are stricter than others, especially when it comes to controlled substances such as Xanax or medicinal Cannabis. And a smaller group are inflexibly restrictive. However, there is no guarantee that any country will choose to honor another’s legal clearance. When that happens, Zennjet steps in on behalf of its Members.
Whether traveling on a family vacation, business trip, or flying solo, if you are carrying prescribed medications, you need Zennjet. Pain, anxiety, depression, sleeplessness or other conditions can ruin a trip, as can being deprived of doctor- prescribed benzoids, opioids or medicinal cannabis to help control persistent medical issues. Zennjet Members are assured of having the medicines they need, when they need them.
There are several important differences, mainly concerning repatriation and health issues. With Zennjet Assist, a Member is entitled to repatriation home if detained or refused entry at their destination because they are carrying legally prescribed medications. An Assist PLUS member is entitled to repatriation home if prescribed medications are confiscated, if they are detained or refused entry into their destination…or if a Member becomes seriously ill or injured and requires medical evacuation, which would be via First Class or Private aircraft. An Assist Member is entitled to $250,000 in Legal Assistance and Repatriation benefits. An Assist PLUS Member is entitled to $1,250,000 in Legal, Medical and Repatriation benefits.
Zennjet will cover full repatriation back to a Member’s home city, with no out-of-pocket costs. We handle logistics, legal coordination, and transportation. If your health is in jeopardy, we will expedite repatriation via the first available flight.
Zennjet’s Global Operations Center will connect with the Member’s doctor, local pharmacies, and even a country’s Embassy if it can be helpful, to ensure you have the medicine you need. If that cannot be accomplished, and it is determined that your health is at stake, you will be repatriated via the next available flight home.
To be covered for repatriation due to medical emergencies, you must be a Zennjet Assist PLUS Member. If repatriation is necessary, Zennjet will arrange medical evacuation, with no pre- existing condition exclusions and no requirement for prior hospitalization. The Member will incur no upfront costs, deductibles or out-of-pocket expenses.
Zennjet has partnerships with globally vetted air ambulance and charter aviation groups – and local or deployable security teams – that enable oversight of all ground and airborne logistics. Repatriation is to the Zennjet Assist PLUS Member’s hospital of choice.
